EDGE Kids Gym

DCPD

EDGE Kids Gym offers classes and open gym to keep your kids moving, especially through the winter!

This kids’ gym in the Highlands offers a variety of active indoor fun options for Louisville families.

EDGE Kids Gym is what I need for my daughter on the weekend. As a mom of a toddler, my Sundays are filled with a child climbing over a couch, dirty laundry spread around from yesterday, I’m trying to avoid excessive screen time and my errands include driving to the nearest coffee shop for my IV of caffeine. And I don’t need food, I’m surviving on hopes and dreams. I need a place for my daughter to get her wiggles out.

In saying that, I love finding places to take my 2-year-old that provide entertainment, movement and fun…. And you can likely find me at Every Day Give Effort (E.D.G.E) Recreational Facility, located at 361 Baxter Avenue (Louisville KY) during their open gym time (4-8pm) on Sundays as well as Fridays. $5 for members, $10 for non-members (fee is for children only). For kids ages 1 to 12.

EDGE Kids Gym that offers gymnastics, cheer and ninja classes to children from 1-12. Information about those classes can be found on their website. You can also follow them on social media: Facebook and Instagram. On their social media, you may also find additional events pop up that are not on their normal schedule like parents’ night out and dance parties.

EDGE Kids Gym has pros and cons. It is a walk-in gym. No reservations needed. They accept cash, credit or apple pay. The gym is clean, organized and plays music on the speakers (every time I have gone with my daughter it has been Disney tunes).

Parking is easy, entrance is in the back and my child always has fun! The space does not have specific ‘big scale’ activities (no ball pits or huge slides). It’s design is a “gym,” so depending on your child’s age, that will determine on if they can play independently or if they will need your help with some of the gym activities.

There is a trampoline, foam pit, mats, ground bar, independent play items and open gym space that would be great for independent play. There is also a rope swing, bars, pickler and foam climbers that may need adult assistance. When you sign in, you sign a piece of paper with your name and your child’s name. I don’t recall ever reading/signing a disclaimer, which is fine, but should be noted. The front desk is often run by one of the gym’s coaches. They are always friendly, but their role is limited when it comes to assistance.

The facility is also available for one-time or recurring rentals. This could be a great option for a group you are a part of, a party, or for homeschool families. They also offer birthday parties if you want them to run one for you.

I have shared EDGE Kids Gym with many friends as somewhere they should take their children if they are looking for somewhere to let their children be feral and have fun. Personally, I love the low key vibes, the cleanliness and easiness of the space. I hope I’ll see you there one Sunday!
