South Louisville Antique & Toy Mall

You will be surprised by the family fun hidden at the back of this toy mall in Kentucky!

Take a step back in time browsing antiques and toys but also, find treasures for everyone in the family.

We headed to South Louisville Antique & Toy Mall after I told a friend about what my daughter likes and that she loves treasure hunting in antique shops. She told me that this place was a MUST and it didn’t disappoint.

Sometimes when it’s the dead of winter or the heat of summer, you have to think outside the box for family fun indoors. We have done it all because of Louisville Family Fun. As my children have grown older, though, their interests shift and change again and again. But, forever, my daughter has been a collector. A few years ago on a vacation, we went to a large antique shop and she was hooked.

South Louisville Antique & Toy Mall

South Louisville Toy & Antique Mall is located at 4150-8 East Blue Lick Rd conveniently off I-65 at the Brooks exit. They are open daily from 10am-5pm except Sundays when the hours are 1-5pm.

She is always on the hunt for Pokémon collectibles, Hot Wheels, and Beanie Babies. I like to go with her because these places are always so random. You just never know. I did find my own treasures at South Louisville Antique & Toy Mall too!

But, one of the main reasons I went was that my friend told me that there was a large operating train display in the back of the shop. There is one in the Mellwood Antique shop as well so I wanted to compare. Well……this display in the back of South Louisville Antique & Toy Mall is so much fun. You have to take your family!

Not only will you be able to browse up and down endless cases of super fun items, you will be entertained by the intricate train display. I spoke to one of the staff members and she told me that it is operating when they have one of the train folks there, which is always on Sundays from 1-5pm, and often on Saturdays.

I just loved the detail in the landscaping and setup of the train display as well as the hum of the constant sound of the trains zipping by. You know they just love families checking out the display because they had characters bopping up and down in the train cars and some trains carrying passengers……stuffed animals. There are signs all around to make sure parents stay with their children so please be cognizant of that!

I also saw families shopping for inexpensive toy items. For example, as I was browsing jewelry, I saw parents come in with a young daughter and they asked about Barbie accessories. One of the friendly staff members knew just where to take her and those parents saved a lot of money getting used items that were in good condition!

They didn’t have a ton of jewelry because the main focus really is on the toy-antique inventory, but I did find one case that was reasonably priced and marked down 30% that was full of sterling silver rings and I bought three.

South Louisville Antique & Toy Mall is perfect for an afternoon for indoor fun. The people were so helpful and nice, the place was very clean and immaculately organized. We will be back!
