Are you ready for free events  in March? We are! March brings cold rainy days, beautiful spring-like days and everything in between.

Make the most of this season-shifting month with some FREE family fun!

Are you looking forward to spring and lots of outdoor adventures with your kids? We give you FREE EVENTS in MARCH! This time of year always moves fast when the area is focused on getting to Spring Break, Easter, and Derby time and the end of the school year. Stick with us and we will make sure you don’t miss a thing this spring!

If you want some spring break ideas, we have many on our post about spring break close to Louisville – if you are up for something but don’t want to go too far. 

 

Free admission all month at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens in Crestwood though March 3rd.  Explore the grounds, take a hike, relax with a good book or picnic lunch! Only open Tuesday – Friday 10am-4pm. 

Flea Off Market Smoketown Flea is (Feb 28th) & March 1st. They will have food trucks, great vendors, live music and so much more.  

Teen Tabletop Gaming – Put down that controller and join in for a fun afternoon of games. They offer a variety of board games, cards, chess, as well as supplies for your own Dungeons and Dragons campaign. Ages 10-19. March 2, 3-5pm, Highlands-Shelby Park Library

Farmer’s Markets are starting back up as we get ready for spring. This is definitely one of the best free events in March. Saturdays in March visit Beulah Presbyterian Church from 10am-1pm, check it out.  

Make plans to get your feet wet and explore the incredible world of frogs, toads, and salamanders at The Parklands of Floyds Fork on March 7th. Drop in anytime for this free event! While activities are geared toward pre-K and elementary schoolers, all ages can join the fun. 10am-2pm

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on March 14th. Streets close down and Parade begins at 3:00pm at the corner of Broadway & Baxter. Floats/Units continue down Baxter to Bardstown Road. The Parade ends at Windsor Place. 

Join Bernheim for Free Play Saturday: Celebration of Play, at Playcosystem, their 17-acre nature playground, where kids can build, imagine, experiment, and follow their curiosity wherever it leads. March 21st, 11am-4pm.
