Every Wednesday: 

Blackacre Conservancy hosts “Story Time with Miss Prim” at 10am. Join Miss Prim donned in her 19th century school dress, for story time at Blackacre. Bring a blanket and spread out under the shade of the tree by the horse pasture. Story time followed by music, dancing, and bubbles! Ideal for toddlers to age six.

Every Saturday:
Farm Animal Feeding at Blackacre Conservancy at 9:30am.

On Sundays:

Cherokee Triangle Summer Concert Series at Willow Park 7 – 9 pm.

Various Dates in July:
Shakespeare in the Park at Central Park. Most shows are at 8pm.

July 3

The Louisville Orchestra, under the dynamic direction of
Teddy Abrams, is thrilled to announce the 3rd Annual ‘Play America,’ scheduled for Thursday, July 3, at America Place at River Ridge. B
eginning at 6:00 PM, the “Family Field” opens to guests and features a full array of food trucks, picnic tables, shaded tents, and activities including bounce houses, balloon creations, face painting, crafts, and more. Then, at 8:00 PM, Teddy Abrams leads the orchestra through a festive musical performance of
classical and contemporary pieces.


July 11 & 25

FridayFest – Highview Park, 6:00-10:00pm, Local music, local food trucks, and community socializing every other Friday, throughout the Summer. 7122 Briscoe Lane.


July 12

Christmas in July Market – East End Farmers Market, 13060 Factory Ln, 8am-1pm. Local Foods, Artisan Crafts, Gifts, Live Music, Kids Activities, & More.

Alberta O. Jones Park Day is on Saturday, July 12 starting at 2:00pm. Join them for a community day of music, tabling partners, activities, and more!

They’re taking things outside! Join them for their Summer Outdoor Festival at the Middletown Peddlers Mall. Vendors, food trucks, music, prizes, and more! 10am-6pm


July 13

South Points Buy Local air – Find diversity and adventure in South Louisville with neighborhood independent businesses. Free parking and free admission. Join them for music, kid’s area, food and local libations, as well as the heart of the Fair: shopping from local businesses! 12-4pm


July 17

Celebrate National Recreation and Parks Month this July at Art in the Park!  They are again partnering with Kentucky Shakespeare to host this event at Central Park on Thursday, July 17 from 6-8 p.m. Find free arts and craft activities under the pergola in the park before the showing of Cymbeline on the amphitheater stage.


July 19

PlayPort Picnic will be on Saturday, July 19 from 11am-2pm with activities for children, a touch-a-truck experience, entertainment, giveaways, and more. Grab some Gore’s Smokeout BBQ, cool off with Frosty’s frozen treats, sip on AMiracle-Ade, or bring you own picnic!


July 30

Waterfront Wednesday – Big Four Lawn at Waterfront Park, located next to the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge. Music starts at 6pm, lawn opens at 5pm.
