2020 has been a unique experience for everyone. In this local shopping guide, we feature businesses that have adapted to people’s needs for social distancing and safe shopping. Some offer delivery, curbside pick up, custom shopping experiences, and more. We love our local businesses in Louisville!
If you’re making a list and checking it twice, be sure to support local businesses this year. I always start my Christmas shopping considering the great local gift options all over town.
Here are some really great options for our local shopping guide:
Art Eatables is perfect for our local shopping guide. Decadent treats, if you have a bourbon-lover to buy for, these are perfect. And, for 2020, they have a new pop-up shop in Plainview Village so more people can easily pick up gifts. Monday – Saturday 11am – 5:30pm.
Carmichael’s Bookstore not only supplies books from local authors, but also popular children’s books and autographed copies of popular books. They have a 2020 Holiday Guide on their website and they offer curbside pickup at all locations and free home delivery in Louisville to a selection of zip codes.
Our holidays would not be the same without goodies from Muth’s Candy. For the 2020 holiday season, they are exclusively running curb-side pickup. You have to get the dark chocolate covered modjeskas! Just give them a call or order online. Their bourbon balls are also our favorite. Ask about their choices for chocolate pops too, we get those for stocking stuffers and they have different themed holiday characters or snow flakes in dark and milk chocolates.
Quest Outdoors have everything you need for the outdoorsy person on your list, from The Big Green Egg to camping gear and for 2020, they are offering Virtual Shopping. How’s that for a unique opportunity, we had to include it in this year’s local shopping guide. You can book an appointment and one of their staff members will help you find the perfect gift!
Logan Street Market features many local businesses. Pair delicious canned items from Garden Girl Foods with cured meats and hand-cut cheese from Harvey’s Cheese to make a wonderful gift basket. Check with them about curbside pickup!
Work the Metal is in Butchertown is an eclectic collection of gifts and mini-shops, you are sure to find something for anyone. They have highlighted special items for 2020 on their website. And, they have a pop-up shop in Westport Village. For 2020, Work the Metal has put much of what they sell online, making it easier for those who do not want to shop in-person. Also, you can schedule private shopping for up to 10 people ($159)!
Have you heard of Froggy’s Popcorn? I have some friends who are OBSESSED. So, I have to put them on the local shopping guide! They have candy cane flavored popcorn, what?! You can follow them on social media to see where their snack shack will be to pick up items. You get free shipping on orders over $35 so why not try many flavors, they have savory flavors also. They have tins and gift baskets as well so avoid ordering from large online retailers and shop local!
